Some Fun Thoughts:

Bubbe (or bubby) is the Yiddish word for grandma. The grandparent moniker, which seemed to fade from popularity for a while, is now making a major comeback, even being featured in shows like “The Rugrats” reboot and “Elena of Avalor.” Nostalgic and warm, this Ashkenazi grandparent name brings up so many good feelings. Maybe it’s a great meal, a great hug. Maybe it’s a bland meal and an awkward hug. Maybe it’s a weird cracker she keeps in her purse in case anyone gets hungry when you’re out for the day. Whatever it is, bubbes are a blessing. If you are fortunate enough to still have a bubbe around, make this word an excuse to call her. If, for whatever reason, you can’t, call someone you love and talk to them! Tell them we sent you.

Bubbes make family, and I am so happy to have you as part of ours.
